Serre Rosier

This hike starts at Les Tourrettes's castle. It leads you into the forest with a uphill view on the Rhône Valley.

Description

To reach the beginning of the hike: go past the town hall and turn right on Saint-Didier street. Pursue on Chemin de Chaussay. Pass by Saint-Didier chapel and turn left to reach the old village with its medieval castle.
Park your car in the corner. There's space for two to three cars.

Take the path on the right that sinks into the ravine, just before the first house. Turn left after the old basin. The path stays in the ravine for a little while before hiking up on the right. Then turn left.

The slope softens until the Serre hamlet which you can see on the left at the junction. Stay on the path to the right.
At the junction, in front of a fence, turn right (view on the Platet hamlet). Stay on the right and start Serre de Rosier ascend.

Stay on the path until you reach the summit. Reach a large forest path, surrounded by hunting watchtowers. Turn right to start the descent.

Continue straight on a marked slope. Cross the wide path and take the small declining path.

Keep this path to reach the starting point. View on the old castle.
