Navon and the Rhône

Starting from the Valladas carpark, climb the Poste street and reach the Poterne street.

Cross the streets in the old Châteauneuf-du-Rhône and reach the Portail street. Walk to the botanical gardens up to the virgin statue. Turn right to reach the large track that runs alongside the ramparts. Outstanding viewpoint over the whole village.

Continue on the path, shared with the GR itenarary, during approximately 1 km. Turn right at the junction. Continue straight and ignore the turns on the right and left. VIewpoint on the Rhône river.
On the round trip of this loop, stay right to find the initial path.

Turn on the right and follow the grass path that runs alongside a pasture. Reach an old BMX track and stay left. Take the path that runs alongside the road. At the end of the path, cross the road and take Chemin de Belle Eau.

On the bend of the road, stay left and turn right before the gate of the house. Walk on the stoney path that climbs on the slope of the Navon.
Reach a large forest path by the left. Getting closer to the summit, turn left to step on a tiny path that reach the summit. Viewpoint on the Rhone Valley, Allan and Malataverne mountains.

Walk down and turn right to reach a path under resinous trees. Take the forest path. Just before the first house, turn left on the grass path. It leads to the Chemin du Rac aux Joannins.

On the pinhead bend with the Chemin du Navon, you can do a round trip to the Rac hamlet. Otherwise, turn left.

Keep this small road during about 2 km then turn left on a small declining path. It leads to ruins before joining the graveyard. Go back to the starting point.
