Exposition forêt résiliente: hommes, arbres, forêts

1

Forêt résiliente features an installation of interactive sculptures observing global deforestation through a representation of the French forest. Finely chiselled slabs of wood undulate and come to life in time with the deforestation.

Description

The Auberge des Dauphins is hosting the Forêt résiliente installation by artist Benjamin Just.

This project questions the ecology of wood, its origin and its original environment, our forestry techniques, our consumption patterns and their parallel markets. It also encourages us to think about the future of our resources and their use. Drawing on a wealth of scientific, botanical, ethnographic and economic research (UN, Greenpeace, ONF, Ernst Zürcher, Francis Halle), this is a look at the human hand that shapes the landscape.
